Visitors out to enjoy dead rubber T20
Ever since Younis Khan announced his retirement from ODIs despite his side going 1-0 up, which caused much tension with the Men in Green’s board, the visitors have gone on to win the next three 50-over games and two T20s.
Now with an uncatchable 2-0 lead in the latter series, England (8/11 favourites with Coral) can go out and enjoy the occasion, and leave the UAE in higher spirits whatever happens in Sharjah.
In both 20-over matches, Trevor Bayliss’ men have managed to hold off their hosts (11/10) – the closest being last time out as they claimed a narrow three-run win.
Plunkett ploughs through Pakistan again
That was largely thanks to the fantastic bowling of Yorkshire’s Liam Plunkett, who gained a another three-wicket haul, so back him to be best England bowler yet again at 7/2.
County teammate Adil Rashid was also deadly with the ball, taking two wickets at a loss of just 18 runs from his four overs, and the leg spinner is a tasty 4/1 shout in the same market.
With the bat it was James Vince (with 38) and stand-in skipper Jos Buttler (33) who led the way to a total of 172-8, so the duo are respective 4/1 and 6/1 chances to get the most runs for their team in Sharjah.
Back Vince to carry on form
After amassing 41 in the first T20, Vince is certainly in form, and can be backed at an even more tempting 13/2 in a wincast.
Perhaps the one shining light for the hosts, playing in their adopted home, meanwhile, was Shahid Afridi, who took terrific figures of 3-15 to get the opening three England batsmen out.
While his efforts were in vain, he is 7/2 to be best Pakistan bowler once more.
