Joint favourites for Coral Welsh Grand National As Entries Are Unveiled
Published:The Tony Martin-trained Heathfield and last Saturday’s Cheltenham winner Sausalito Sunrise head the sponsor’s betting for next month’s Coral Welsh Grand National at 8-1, after the entries for the Chepstow showpiece were unveiled today. Cogry, Shotgun Paddy and Upswing are the 10-1 co-second favourites, with last year’s winner, Emperor’s Choice, among the runners quoted at 12-1.
“It is great to see a typically high class entry for this year’s Coral Welsh Grand National, a contest that always features highly in the annual list of races by betting turnover. Everyone at Coral remains extremely proud of our link with Wales’s greatest race, which has spanned five decades, making it one of the longest-standing partnerships in the sport, and the £100,000 bonus on offer should the Chepstow winner go on to triumph at Ayr next April – in the Coral Scottish Grand National – links two great Nationals,” said Coral’s David Stevens.
