Five Dutch talents for Southampton to consider in January

Southampton have made great progress in the Premier League, with savvy signings and smart pieces of business (including transfers out of the club). However, this term there has been a certain Dutch influence (Maarten Stekelenburg, Virgil van Dijk and Jordy Clasie) which has had a great effect.

As a result, with this something that seems to paying off, Coral suggest five potential Dutch signings for manager Ronald Koeman (a Dutchman himself) to consider in the winter window, with Southampton 6/4 from Coral for a top six finish this term.

Adam Maher

Currently at PSV Eindhoven, the 22-year-old attacking midfielder is blessed with talent and has the potential to dovetail delightfully with Clasie. Not strictly from the Netherlands, he has Moroccan descent, though is a Dutch international. Gifted on the ball, maestro Maher can certainly do a job for Southampton.

Joel Veltman

Part of the next generation of defenders coming through the ranks, the 23-year-old Ajax centre back has an abundance of talent and can form a great relationship with compatriot Van Dijk, who has hit the ground running on the south coast, since his move from Celtic.

Robin van Persie

Luciano Narsingh

Another PSV player, the 25-year-old is highly versatile, able to operate on either wing, through the middle, or with another striker. Whether Koeman would be convinced is another matter, though there could well be a bargain to be had here.
