Coral’s Rumour Reel: Chelsea on a striker search?

With the winter sales edging ever closer, a number of top clubs are eyeing shiny new additions to their squads. Though this morning’s tantalising transfer rumours also feature a few familiar names and faces, with several Bundesliga stars said to be destined for the Premier League…
Blues to bag a Costa back-up?
The January sales cannot come soon enough for struggling Premier League champions Chelsea, with a striker to supplement tempestuous poacher Diego Costa said to be top of Jose Mourinho’s Christmas list.
While, ‘the Special One’ and his leading man may have made amends with “a few kisses and a few cuddles,” following a disagreement at half-time against Norwich City, the under-pressure Portuguese could dip into the coffers for an attacking alternative.

Among the targets mooted, Chelsea are strongly linked to Leicester City whizz Jamie Vardy, Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann, unsettled West Bromwich Albion forward Saido Berahino and…wait for it…everyone’s favourite free agent Emmanuel Adebayor.
Arsenal and Manchester United to raid Bundesliga?
While, two of the teams tussling to snatch Chelsea’s title, Arsenal (2/1 to win the Premier League with Coral) and Manchester United (4/1), could return to interest in former targets from Germany’s top-tier.
Amid rumours that Borussia Dortmund’s Mats Hummels could hand in a transfer request, Louis van Gaal is believed to be lurking and ready to recruit the superstar centre half. Tipped to arrive at Old Trafford for what seems like an age, Hummels would be the ball-playing defender the Dutchman has always craved.

The Gunners have similarly been long-linked with another Germany international in Bayer Leverkusen captain Lars Bender, and could attempt to add the midfield marshal this winter.
Arsene Wenger is also the latest Premier League manager to be credited with an interest in Brazilian bargain buy Alexandre Pato, alongside the likes of Man Utd, Tottenham and Liverpool, with an arrival in the English top-flight for the striker appearing inevitable.
Juventus circling for Isco and Nasri
Fresh from completing a Champions League double over Manchester City, Italian giants Juventus have reportedly had a £10m offer rejected for the Sky Blues’ injury prone playmaker Samir Nasri. The Old Lady may go back in for the Frenchman at a later date, but could instead try to prise skillful Spaniard Isco from the clutches of Real Madrid, with the former Malaga midfield thought to be unhappy with a supporting role under Rafa Benitez.

Finally, Crystal Palace could fork out around £14m for Sporting Lisbon forward Islam Slimani, with Alan Pardew keen to add another poacher to his Selhurst Park ranks, while Newcastle United may attempt to stave off relegation by snapping up Spurs winger Andros Townsend and Swansea City schemer Jonjo Shelvey.
