Gunners game for crunch clash
Arsene Wenger’s men are heavily odds-on at 2/9 with Coral to beat Dinamo Zagreb in their Champions League Group F match at the Emirates.
It is a must-win clash if Arsenal are to stand any chance of progressing into the last 16 of the competition. The Gunners were frustrating last time out, throwing the towel in against a mediocre at best West Bromwich Albion slumping to a 2-1 defeat, with Santi Cazorla missing a penalty.
Arsenal now haven’t won in three matches across all competitions, including a devastating 5-1 hammering against Bayern Munich in their last Champions League clash.
Olivier Giroud opened the scoring at The Hawthorns and the Frenchman is 3/1 to do the same against the Croatian outfit, having dispatched the solitary against the Bundesliga champions.
Chilean attacker Alexis Sanchez will likely play a huge role if Arsenal are going to be victorious and is 7/2 to score two or more, while Mesut Ozil, who is one booking away from being suspended, is available at 6/5 in the anytime market.
Although a win is crucial for Arsenal, they must also hope that Bayern Munich do them a favour and beat Olympiakos in their Champions League match, to stand a chance of finishing second.
Injury woes worry Wenger
The Arsenal boss faces a selection headache for the match against the team that beat them 2-1 in the reverse earlier this term. Aaron Ramsey, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott, who scored in Zagreb are all still out, while Francis Coquelin sustained an injury against the Baggies.
“It looks difficult to have players to come back for Tuesday. Ramsey will be short, [Theo] Walcott and [Alex] Oxlade-Chamberlain will be short and they are the closest,” said Wenger.
Realising the slump that his side are in, the Frenchman is hoping for a positive response in Europe: “It is a difficult moment for us,” he continued.
“In the last two games we took one point out of six and that is very disappointing after such a great run. We have to come back quickly and focus. [The defeat at West Brom] was a severe disappointment but we cannot change it. The only thing we can do now is bounce back on Tuesday night.”
Zealous Zagreb no pushovers
During the reverse, Dinamo showed that they had quite a bit about them and largely performed well, nullifying Arsenal’s threat, while offering plenty themselves.
Junior Fernandes struck on that occasion and is the attacker is well priced at 11/2 in the anytime market, while former Manchester United forward Angelo Henriquez will be keen to outshine compatriot Sanchez and is 14/1 to break the deadlock.
