Coral’s bet of the day

  • Tottenham hold the longest unbeaten run in this season’s Premier League
  • Aston Villa have scored in three of their last five defeats
  • Harry Kane hit a hat-trick in last victory over Bournemouth

Spurs beat Villa and both teams score 5/2

Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham go into their Premier League clash with rock-bottom Aston Villa boasting the division’s longest unbeaten run and Coral’s bet of the day for Monday Night Football is Spurs to win and both teams to score at 5/2 with a £20 max stake.

The Londoners have not been toppled in the Premier League since their 1-0 opening day defeat to Manchester United in August, and they will be confident of extending such an impressive streak when they host a hapless Villans outfit.

After the sacking of Tim Sherwood, Villa have turned to former Lyon boss Remi Garde, but the club will still be without their potential new boss for this encounter, which they come into on the back of a disastrous six successive domestic losses.

Villa scoring in defeat

Although, in defeat, Villa have still managed to find the bet on numerous occasions, netting in recent losses to Swansea City and a League Cup clash with Southampton, as well as against Leicester City and Liverpool.

The West Midlands side’s ability to get on the scoresheet despite suffering poor results suggests these 5/2 odds of another goal during a seventh consecutive defeat at White Hart Lane is seriously worth considering.

With only four points from 10 games so far before their Spurs encounter, Pochettino’s hosts will seek to add further misery on the travelling Villans, having climbed to sixth-place. A victory on the back of their Bournemouth bashing would see the Londoners move up to fifth position, edging past European spot rivals West Ham United on goal difference in a tight top tier table.

Hurri-Kane storming back to best

Much was made of Harry Kane’s minor club goal drought previously, but the England international frontman has now struck six times this season in all competitions for Spurs and Roy Hodgson’s Three Lions.

The revitalised Spurs sharpshooter hit a sublime hat-trick in the Cherries demolition last time out, proving last season’s highest scoring Englishman is back to his clinical best in a Tottenham shirt.

When Kane has been on target this term, he has always been on the winning side, including for England, having struck in wins over San Marino, Switzerland, Manchester City and Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth.

The Spurs striker will look to fire his club to another victory over a stuttering Villa outfit, with the in-form hosts 5/2 to overcome their severely struggling opponents and both teams to score at White Hart Lane.
