Coral’s bet of the day

  • Manchester City are unbeaten in seven matches in all competitions
  • Kevin De Bruyne scored the winner against Sevilla in the reverse fixture
  • Unai Emery’s side lost last time out in La Liga

De Bruyne to score and Manchester City to win at 5/1

Manuel Pellegrini’s side are offered at 5/1 in an enhanced Champions League matchday special to beat Sevilla with Kevin De Bruyne scoring with a maximum bet of £20 as Coral’s bet of the day. The Belgium attacking midfielder has been in top form for City since joining from Wolfsburg in the summer and has scored six goals in all competitions.

Man City go into the game on the south coast of Spain as 6/4 favourites in the usual matchday market and know that a win will almost guarantee their progression through to the last 16 of Europe’s elite club competition.

Currently also top of the Premier League on goal difference, City are playing some fantastic football, with the likes of David Silva, Yaya Toure, Raheem Sterling and Wilfried Bony all contributing.

De Bruyne backed for greatness

At just 24 years old, he has an abundance of potential. De Bruyne’s decision to walk away from Chelsea and back himself to become a world star elsewhere seems to be paying dividends. At Wolfsburg he became a revelation, assisting just as much as scoring.

Priced at a modest 15/8 to score in the anytime market, the Belgian will be encouraged by the amount of time that he was given on the ball in the reverse fixture, though creating space is his forte. Also able to net a wide array of goals, he has also stepped into the injured Sergio Aguero’s shoes with apparent ease, providing a natural alternative, showing his composure from the penalty spot as well.

De Bruyne’s combination play with the likes of Silva, Toure and even Bony has been particularly highlighted in the last couple of games and this can work in his favour against a highly susceptible Sevilla defence which is missing centre backs Daniel Carrico and Nicolas Pareja.
