Britain’s bookmakers are bracing themselves for a £50 million betting bonanza ahead of a huge weekend of sporting action according to Coral. The Rugby World Cup, Merseyside Derby, and Prix De L’Arc De Triomphe are the main events,  in what Coral has described as one of the biggest betting weekends  on the sporting calendar.

Saturday’s main attraction will be England’s crucial clash with Australia, where they are the 4-5 favourites to beat the Wallabies in an attempt to avoid a premature elimination from the Rugby World Cup.

Super Sunday sees two huge clashes in the Premier League take place, the Merseyside Derby and Arsenal v Manchester United, while in Paris, superstar mare Treve is hot favourite to see off her rivals in a bid to make it a historic hat-trick of wins in the world’s biggest race, the Prix De L’Arc De Triomphe.

“The glorious weather has brought a real feel good factor across the country this week and with some fantastic sporting action to look forward to, this weekend is set to be one of the biggest of the year for betting turnover, with upwards of £50 million likely to be gambled across the events ,” said Coral’s Nicola McGeady.
