Table toppers Man Utd great value to beat Arsenal away again

Published:

Perhaps for the first time since the Sir Alex Ferguson era, Manchester United fans are able to hold their heads up high and smile with their team top of the table and 4/1 title chances with Coral.

While things are of course far from perfect, it could be a lot worse compared to their main rivals such as Manchester City, Liverpool and even Premier League champions Chelsea.

Arsenal, meanwhile, come into this clash with the Red Devils having just lost their second Champions League group game, with the pressure firmly on Arsene Wenger and his players once more to gain major success.

The Frenchman will certainly not be relishing facing old foes United, a team the Gunners have astonishingly beaten just once in the league since 2008. A draw, therefore at 13/5, might be there best chance of getting any points at the Emirates.

Arsenal are the even-money favourites for this match, despite that terrible record, but they have tasted victory against Man Utd as recently as last season – at Old Trafford in the FA Cup.

Wenger will hope to look to improving attackers Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott, who have struck four times apiece this term. They are both priced at 5/4 to score again anytime.

It is United’s odds of 14/5 to win that seem the more enticing, though, especially as they are undefeated in their last four away games at Gunners.

Captain Wayne Rooney has been reasonably goal-shy this season in the top flight, but has a fantastic record against Arsenal, having scored 14 in 31 total matches. He is 11/4 to dispatch anytime on Sunday, and carry on his fine form in other competitions.

France teenager Anthony Martial has been one of the shining lights for Louis van Gaal’s men, though, having found the net four times already. The exciting young forward is a great shout at 2/1 in the anytime market.

Widemen Memphis Depay and in-form Juan Mata, meanwhile, are respective 2/1 and 7/2 shouts.

A 2-1 result in Man Utd’s favour has been a particular favourite for them, having won by that amount four times in recent years. That scoreline again for the visitors is highly tempting at 11/1.

Coral’s top tip: The above scoreline is very enticing, but Man Utd’s odds of 14/5 just to win are fantastic enough to be on the safe side.
