Roma running teams ragged

Italy Soccer Serie A
Inter Milan may boast home advantage but it’s no surprise Serie A leaders Roma are 6/4 favourites to win away at the San Siro with Coral, having steadily climbed to the Italian top-flight summit.

This fixture is always one of the feistiest on Serie A’s calendar and, once again after the Nerazzurri’s re-emergence as a Scudetto contender, this duel could end up a decisive one, even so early in the season.

The Giallorossi have been grabbing goals galore of late, striking 16 across their past five fixtures in all competitions, and should be seeking to outscore their more pragmatic Milanese opponents. So, odds of 21/5 for the rampant Romans to rack-up three or more are magnificent.

Furthermore, the in-form Eternal City outfit have lost just once on the road against Inter in their last six San Siro scuffles, so are also excellent at 7/2 to win with both teams to score.

Playmaker Miralem Pjanic has found the net in four of his past five fixtures, with three of those strikes opening goals, so is a superb shout at 7/1 to get things started again.

Although, ex-Arsenal attacker Gervinho and Chelsea-owned wingman Mohamed Salah have both rippled the goal of late, and are both priced at 13/2 to open and close the scoring respectively.

Inter off the boil

The Nerazzurri of course have their own net threats, but Robert Mancini’s men will have to up their attacking impetus after drawing three of their previous four frays, scoring just three in those encounters.

This makes the blue and black half of Milan a better bet at 23/10 to take just one point from this tussle, rather than all three (9/5).

Argentine marksman Mauro Icardi grabbed the winner against Bologna last time out and was also on target in this very fixture last term, so is worth a 9/5 punt in the anytime market.

Can Jovetic become a foe to “friends”?

Italy Soccer Serie A
Strike partner Stevan Jovetic, on loan from Manchester City, hit the ground running in Italy but his goals have dried up a little of late. The former Fiorentina forward is 11/5 to get back to business anytime, and recently highlighted the danger Pjanic could pose to press.

Jovetic stated: “Against Roma it’s going to be a beautiful game, they play well. I have friends there that I’ll be confronting with pleasure, like [Edin] Dzeko and Pjanic. I can’t wait.

“Let’s hope Pjanic flunks this one! It’s wonderful to play in a full San Siro, we must bring the supporters back to the stadium.”
