Sensational Sunday Serie A action
There are more top-draw duels to enjoy in Serie A, with a super Sunday of scuffles between several big-guns. Two marvelous matches to have caught the eye in particular are table-topping Fiorentina’s fray with second spot Roma and Lazio’s hosting of impressive Torino.
Here are our best bets for these two fantastic Italian football fixtures…
Fiorentina v Roma
- Serie A
- Sunday, October 25th
- Kick-off: 17:00 GMT
- Stadio Artemio Franchi, Florence
- BT Sport 1
Guests the Giallorossi have so far grabbed the most goals in the Italian top-flight, so will prove a stern test for Fiorentina. The Tuscan team have won all four of their home league fixtures, keeping clean sheets across the board, but their back line could buckle against the rampant Romans.
Roma are understandably 7/4 match favourites due to their recent record on the road against Fiorentina. The Stadio Olimpico side are unbeaten in their past five visits to Viola, with three victories from those meetings finishing 1-0 in the capital club’s favour. So, customers can take odds of 11/5 for the same scoreline to occur again.
A draw is generous at 11/5 but, as the hosts have suffered back-to-back defeats across all competitions, now is the time for the Giallorossi, just one point adrift of the Serie A summit, to strike.
Roma are excellent value at 5/1 to score three or more, with Daniele De Rossi (5/1 in the anytime market) once again the driving force from midfield. The Italy international was instrumental in the Eternal City outfit’s thrilling 4-4 Champions League draw against Bayer Leverkusen last time out, and has notched three goals in as many of his past matches.
Midfield schemer Miralem Pjanic (9/4) is also in-form for the travelling team, while Fiorentina have formidable threats of their own in Giuseppe Rossi (5/1 to net last) and Nikola Kalinic, who is the same price to open the scoring.
Lazio v Torino
- Serie A
- Sunday, October 25th
- Kick-off: 17:00 GMT
- Stadio Olimpico, Rome
- BT Sport 1 Extra
Roma’s city rivals Lazio also have an excellent opportunity to climb the table, and are odds-on at 20/23 to take all three points from their encounter with Torino.
The Bull have been brilliant this term, and are basking in the limelight of being Turin’s top team, with giants Juventus struggling five points behind the Piedmont minnows.
Still, winning at the Stadio Olimpico will not be easy, but stubborn Torino could snatch a draw at a tempting 23/10. The Bull have won just once away from home, however, so Lazio look a much better shout at 21/10 to win to nil, having taken maximum points from their league home games so far.
Fantastic flank threat Felipe Anderson (7/1 to draw first blood) has two strikes in his last two games, and fellow wide attacker Antonio Candreva (13/2 to finish) has also been among the goals lately. For Torino, the tastiest scoring shout is former Juventus marksman Fabio Quagliarella (5/2 to notch anytime).
