Played for both: PSG and Real Madrid

It’s tough to find two cities more glamorous than continental capitals Paris and Madrid, a duo of huge footballing destination draws.

So, as PSG (29/20 to win with Coral) prepare to host Real Madrid (2/1) in the Champions League, Coral experts dig through the archives to find five stars who played for both. Read on to find out who we came up with…

Nicolas Anelka

We begin with fiery former France forward Anelka, who will no doubt be familiar to Premier League fans for working his way around England with Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and West Bromwich Albion.

Yet, the talented and temperamental journeyman attacker also managed to fit in two stints at the Parisian giants, with whom he spent a portion of his youth career, and a brief but barren season with Los Blancos, where he bagged just two Liga goals.

David Beckham

Now, of course, most famous for being a global fashion icon, ex-England skipper and set-piece specialist Beckham also won titles with both Real and PSG. Though the Manchester United academy product moved to Madrid in his prime as a true Galactico signing, it was the Parisian’s with whom he spent his final playing days.

Angel Di Maria

The versatile Argentine attacker was flogged to Manchester United, after four fine years in the Spanish capital, for a British record fee of £59.7m. Yet, Old Trafford was but a one-season pit-stop on the way to Paris, where Di Maria has proven dangerous once again, racking-up three goals and four assists in eight outings for the Les Rouge-et-Bleu. With a point to prove to his former employers, wiry winger ‘El Noodle’ is 7/4 to score anytime.

Gabriel Heinze

Another Argentina international to have sandwiched in a move to Manchester, in between playing for PSG and Real, features here.

Determined defender Heinze forged his name in France with Parisians, with his performances garnering attention from Sir Alex Ferguson. After reportedly requesting a switch to Northwest rivals Liverpool, the left back found himself instead offloaded to Real, where he lifted La Liga and Spanish Super Cup titles.
