Klopp needs to strike it right

Britain Soccer Europa League
While Liverpool are still unbeaten under new boss Jurgen Klopp, they have been far from convincing in his first two matches in charge. The Reds are evens with Coral to beat Southampton at Anfield after recording a 2-1 win at home against the Saints last term.

Having started youngster Divock Origi in attack in the draws against Tottenham and Rubin Kazan, there wasn’t much to be convinced about, while Christian Benteke’s substitute appearance against the Russian outfit left a lot to be desired, with the 24-year-old missing a number of chances.

They are 5/1 and 4/1 respectively to break the deadlock and, with news emerging that Daniel Sturridge may face another scan, it is unlikely that the England international will feature.

Coutinho craft

Coutinho
Liverpool’s Brazilian was a constant creative threat in midweek and is likely to be one of the players to watch again, having scored in the reverse fixture last season. At 2/1 in the anytime market, he is well worth considering and dictated play last time out.

If he can occupy potential gaps in between Southampton’s midfield, the 23-year-old is more than capable of creating enough space to run at the rearguard. On more than one occasion, he was afforded the opportunity to pull the trigger at Anfield last time out and was unlucky to drag wide each time.

Prolific Pelle provides perfect platform

Highlighted against Rubin Kazan, was the Reds’ inability to deal with an imposing centre forward and the Saints’ Italian hitman can cause no end of problems for whichever pairing Klopp chooses.

He is 7/4 to strike in the anytime market and was on target in his side’s last away fixture, as Ronald Koeman’s outfit disposed of Chelsea 3-1 at Stamford Bridge.

Sadio Mane has also been just as effective for the south coast club this term, with two goals in his last three matches and is good value at 9/4 to net in the game.
