Washington Redskins at New York Jets

New York can make it four victories in five games when they host a Washington side that are yet to win away this season, at MetLife Stadium on Sunday.

The Jets, who boast the league’s stingiest defense (conceding just 13.8 points per game), also have the advantage of being well rested – they did not play last weekend, following their return from London, where they were convincing 27-14 winners over Miami a fortnight ago.

Despite playing one less game than many other teams in the league, New York have accumulated the second-most turnovers (13 – six interceptions plus seven fumble recoveries) and the second-best turnover differential (+6).

Those figures do not bode well for a Washington side that are ranked 20th in the NFL for turnover differential (-3).

Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins in particular has struggled, turning the ball over six times this season – including a costly pick-six interception in overtime against Atlanta last week to lose the game.

Washington’s run defense gave up over 170 yards on the ground in that defeat. New York running back Chris Ivory, who gained an astonishing 166 rushing yards and a touchdown in his last outing, will fancy his chances of scoring here. Ivory is 5/1 to score first with Coral.

Miami Dolphins at Tennessee Titans

Tennessee are highly backed to triumph when they play host to a reeling Miami team at Nissan Stadium this Sunday.

The Dolphins are in disarray, rooted to the bottom of the AFC East division, and last week took the desperate decision to fire head coach Joe Philbin in a bid to get back on track.

But American Football is not a sport where midseason coaching changes tend to work out well – in fact, all 25 NFL teams who have done so since 2000, subsequently failed to reach the playoffs. Punters should not hold their breath waiting for Miami to make it lucky number 26.

Tennessee are a team that could be on their way up, with rookie quarterback Marcus Mariota showing promise so far – he has thrown eight touchdown passes already this season, against just three interceptions, for a 99.7 passer rating.

Meanwhile, Titans running back Bishop Sankey could be poised for a big game, as he comes up against the Dolphins’ pathetic rushing defense, which is ranked worst in the league. Sankey is available at odds of 10/1 to score first on Sunday.

Kansas City Chiefs at Minnesota Vikings

Minnesota can heap more misery on struggling Kansas City at TCF Bank Stadium this weekend.

It’s all going wrong for the Chiefs in 2015. Kansas City have just one win, are rock bottom of the AFC West division, their defense is ranked the third-worst in the NFL and, just to top it off, they lost their best player to a season-ending injury last weekend.

Star Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles went down with an ACL tear midway through their defeat to Chicago. In Charles’ absence, the team’s offense ground to a halt, and as a result Kansas City blew a double-digit lead at home to lose the game.

Kansas’ passing defense remains porous – they have conceded 13 touchdowns through the air, the worst record in the NFL – and Minnesota could take advantage of that on Sunday.

Vikings wide receiver Mike Wallace is averaging nearly 12 yards per catch this season, and he could turn the screws on the Chiefs. Wallace is priced at 12/1 with Coral to grab the first score here.
