Marseille unlikely to belie miserable recent record against PSG
Ligue 1 champions PSG have had an unbeaten start to the 2015/16 season, and will stay top of the table no matter what their result against Marseille and how the rest of the division fare.
However, it is likely that they can increase their 12-point lead over L’OM, having incredibly beaten them in each of their last seven meetings in all competitions, even when master tactician Marcelo Bielsa was in charge of the south coast side last term.
PSG, therefore, are heavy 1/3 favourites for victory again, with a more enticing 11/2 price to do so 2-0, as has been the exact scoreline in their favour in the previous five clashes at the Parc des Princes.
Unsurprisingly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic netted numerous times against Marseille, although has not done so in his last three matches against them. But the Swedish superstar has scored in both of his last Ligue 1 fixtures this season, and is evens to strike anytime again, or 3/1 for two or more.
Edinson Cavani, Lucas Moura and Blaise Matuidi got goals for the Parisians last campaign against Marseille, and can be backed at 11/10, 13/8 and 12/5 in the anytime market.
New signing from Manchester United, Argentine Angel Di Maria, meanwhile, has made a good start to life in France’s capital, having scored three times in seven matches in all competitions. The former Real Madrid attacker is 13/8 to net anytime once more.
Another ex-Los Blancos star, Michel, is the opposing manager, and needs to somehow inspire his side to a first win in three to kick-start L’OM’s season. The visitors are 15/2 shouts for victory, and a more fancied 15/4 to draw.
One man hoping to find the net for Marseille is Belgium cap Michy Batshuayi, who has five goals already this term. He is 3/1 to score anytime.
Familiar faces to Premier League fans Remy Cabella, Abou Diaby and Mauricio Isla, meanwhile, are respective 4/1, 6/1 and 14/1 shouts. And you can back Lassana Diarra to celebrate a recall to the France set-up at 11/1 in the anytime market.
Coral’s top tip: PSG have remarkably won their last five home games in all competitions against Marseille 2-0, so are 11/2 to do so again.
