Sevilla out to sink Yellow Submarine

Unai Emery’s high-flying Sevilla will look to maintain their recent dominance over rivals Villarreal in their latest La Liga encounter, having rallied to four successive fixture victories, with their last defeat coming in February 2012.

The travelling Sevillistas toppled their domestic Spanish opposition four times during last campaign, including a double domestic coup and two Europa League triumphs both at home and at their latest fixture venue, El Madrigal.

Sevilla are 11/5 with Coral to sink the Yellow Submarines for a sixth successive triumph, while Villarreal are 23/20 to earn three points on home turf, with both teams having endured a indifference of form of late.

Contrasting domestic form

The visitors have managed to keep just one clean sheet on the road this season and that came during the opening day of the campaign, while former Bathtubs boss Marcelino Garcia Toral’s hosts have struck in all of their home outings so far both in Europe and domestically. So odds of 3/1 on Villarreal winning to nil are definitely appealing.

Villarreal are aiming to get back to winning ways after three recent failed attempts in La Liga, having previously rallied to the table’s summit in September with an earlier 1-0 triumph over Atletico Madrid.

Meanwhile, Emery’s visitors pulled off a massive 5-0 hammering over Getafe last time out domestically at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, earning three points to move into a European position in the standings.

Astute attacking ranks

Recently capped Spain international midfielder Vitolo has showcased his true attacking talents in this fixture before, having struck twice against Villarreal last term, and the Los Rojiblancos goal danger is 4/1 to net anytime once again.

Vitolo’s fellow Spain international Fernando Llorente is 2/1 to add to his only season goal so far anytime, while in-form Frenchman Kevin Gameiro is 9/1 to bag a brace or more, after his emphatic hat-trick against Getafe in his last appearance brought his tally to an impressive seven in all competitions.

Georgia Super Cup Soccer

For the hosts, Jonathan Dos Santos was on target in this fixture last campaign, and the Mexican midfielder is 6/1 to dispatch another against Sevilla on home soil in his latest outing. Former Tottenham misfit Roberto Soldado is 5/1 to open proceedings after a recent rejuvenation.

Injury concerns

The Yellow Submarine will be without Sergio Asenjo, Musacchio, Leo Baptistao and Adrian Lopez for their welcoming of Sevilla, stars who will be a huge miss to their ranks for this vital La Liga meeting, while the visitors have Nico Pareja, Beto and Daniel Carrico absent, with Ever Banega a doubt.
