Remi Garde is 2-5 with bookmaker Coral to be appointed as the next permanent Aston Villa manager after the firm saw sustained support for the former Lyon boss this afternoon. Nigel Pearson is second best in the betting at 8-1, while Saint-Etienne’s Christophe Galtier has emerged near the top end of the market at 10-1.

Meanwhile, in the betting for the next Premier League manager to leave, Jose Mourinho is now odds on at 10-11 to depart his post at Chelsea.
