  • Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football pits Swans against Stoke
  • Ayew has made immediate impact upon Premier League arrival
  • Potters have kept two clean sheets all season

Home is where the heart is for Ayew

Soccer - Capital One Cup - Second Round - Swansea City v York - Liberty Stadium

Andre Ayew has scored three times in his four home Premier League appearances for Swansea City so far, after signing for Garry Monk’s men in the summer.

The Ghana international attacker is the Swans’ joint top scorer with Bafetimbi Gomis, but the French target man has gone off the boil recently. It’s Ayew punters should be backing in the anytime market, then, at a superb 7/4 with Coral.

Both Andre and younger brother Jordan made Premier League switches after starring in France’s Ligue 1, playing together at Marseille. While his sibling has struggled with relegation-threatened Villa, the elder Ayew’s stock could hardly be higher.

Swans unbeaten at Liberty against Potters

Soccer - Pre-Season Friendly - Swansea City v Deportivo La Coruna - Liberty Stadium

In the Premier League era, Swansea boast three wins and a draw against Stoke at the Liberty Stadium, and that strong home form, coupled with Ayew’s own penchant for finding the target on Welsh soil, is a strong indicator here.

Just one of his four Premier League strikes has come away from the Liberty, so he’s clearly playing with freedom in front of Swans supporters who have swiftly taken to him.

If Ayew can score goals against Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham, then it’s well within him to find the net when paired with Mark Hughes’ Potters, who were hoping their marquee signing Xherdan Shaqiri would light up the Premier League in similar fashion.

Stoke look rocky in defence without Shawcross

Soccer - Barclays Premier League - Stoke City v Queens Park Rangers - The Britannia Stadium

The Midlands outfit have really missed defensive lynchpin and skipper Ryan Shawcross, who has been out of action for the entire season so far after needing back surgery.

In his absence, the Potters have kept just two cleans in 10 across all competitions, so that bodes well for Ayew to pounce here.
