The US Open tennis fourth round continues in earnest at Flushing Meadows, with some big names still left in the competition. Coral previews the outstanding matches as we near the latter stages.

John Isner v Roger Federer
Although the Swiss star is heavily odds-on at 1/9 with Coral to ultimately progress, neither him or his opponent have dropped a set during the tournament, which makes for an interesting prospect. Isner is considered one of the best servers on the ATP Tour and could cause problems, so a 3-2 victory in Federer’s favour at 11/2 looks a handsome price.

Kevin Anderson v Andy Murray
The South African has made hard work of progressing so far at the tournament and will have to raise his game against Murray, who, after his straight set victory in the last round seems to have recovered from a bout of flu. Heavily odds-on at 1/8 to sweep aside Anderson, a price of 4/5 to do it in three sets looks slightly more attractive.

Stan Wawrinka v Donald Young
It seems the 26-year-old American is finally back, after a tough couple of years, where he has struggled for form, though he will need to be on top his game to beat his Swiss opponent who won the French Open earlier this year. Although Wawrinka has a massive odds-on price at 1/7, Young has shown a resilience and fighting spirit in earlier rounds and this could go to five sets, making odds of 11/2 in the European’s favour seem tempting.

Tomas Berdych v Richard Gasquet
This match will make for interesting viewing and could be a real arm wrestle. Although Berdych is the odds-on favourite at 8/13 he was really tested in the third round against Guillermo Garcia-Lopez in a duel that went for four sets.

Gasquet, meanwhile, looked calm and assured as he humbled Bernard Tomic, playing arguably the shot of the open to win the match, which led his opponent to sportingly whip the crowd into a standing ovation. At 5/4 to win the match outright the Frenchman is definitely worth considering.

Petra Kvitova v Johanna Konta
The Czech hope is odds-on at 1/5 to get past Konta, who struggled into the fourth round, while Kvitova hasn’t yet dropped a set at the tournament making this match relatively academic. She is 4/7 to win in straight sets.

Sabine Lisicki v Simona Halep
Arguably the tie of the ladies fourth round, despite commanding a 4/1 price to win, 25-year-old German Lisicki shouldn’t automatically be written off. She showed remarkable resilience to progress into the fourth round against Czech opponent Barbora Strycova, though Halep is a different prospect.

Having not dropped a set so far, she swept aside Shelby Rogers last time out and is 1/2 to win 2-0 once more in the fourth round.

Elsewhere, in the ladies draw, Victoria Azarenka is odds-on at 4/11 to beat Varvara Lepchenko in straight sets, while Samantha Stosur is evens to beat Italy’s Flavia Pennetta.

Coral’s top tip: Wawrinka to beat Young 3-2 @ 11/2
