Treve now odds-on for Arc after stunning Vermeille success
Published:Treve’s stunning success in this afternoon’s Prix Vermeille prompted Coral to immediately slash her odds of winning a third Prix De L’Arc De Tiromphe to 10/11 from 2/1.
The Andre Fabre trained New Bay was equally impressive in winning the Prix Niel earlier today and is now 9/2 second favourite from 7/1, with Coral easing Jack Hobbs to 7/1.
“Treve’s performance today was visually stunning and whilst she will have to contend with much better opposition in the Arc in three weeks time it is hard to see what, other than an Act of God, will stop her winning the race for a historic third successive time,” said Simon Clare, Coral Spokesman.
Aidan O’Brien won both the Group One two year old races in Ireland this afternoon with Air Force Blue and Minding, and Coral promoted both horses to the head of the ante post markets for next year’s 2000 and 1000 Guineas respectively.
Air Force Blue oozed class in winning the National Stakes and is now 6/1 joint favourite from 7/1 with Coral for the Qipco 2000 Guineas alongside yesterday’s Doncaster winner Emotionless.
Minding won the Moyglare Stud Stakes and was cut to 8/1 joint favourite from 33/1 by Coral for the 1000 Guineas, a position she shares with today’s runner-up, Ballydoyle. Minding is also the new 10/1 favourite from 33/1 for next year’s Investec Oaks.
