Primeira Liga: Clash of the titans as Porto host title rivals Benfica

Published:

Striker Vincent Aboubakar is clearly relishing being the main man at Porto, following the move of Jackson Martinez to Atletico Madrid. With six goals in all competitions so far (four league goals) he is more than favourable at 13/8 with Coral to net anytime and 4/1 to break the deadlock as his club face fierce rivals Benfica.

Porto’s ability to effortlessly replace seemingly indispensable talent is an achievement many football commentators continue to gush about. In recent years, prolific prospects such as Radamel Falcao, Hulk, James Rodriguez and most recently Martinez have all departed, only for another player to step into their shoes with equivalent success.

It has been no different with Aboubakar this season, who at 23, could well be the next talent to role off Porto’s production line.

The Cameroonian has a hint of Martinez about him, though is slightly more mobile, possessing the pace of compatriot Samuel Eto’o and having been plucked from French club Lorient last summer will have his eye on leading Porto to domestic silverware this term.

Jesus Corona struck twice last time out in the league as the club beat Arouca 3-1 and the 22-year-old Mexican winger has respectable 21/10 odds to dispatch anytime.

Central to everything that Porto have done this season though, is his compatriot, Hector Herrera who is the driving force in midfield, offering a box-to-box presence and demonstrable dynamism. He has already opened his scoring account for this term and is 9/2 anytime.

This result last season though ended in a 2-0 defeat for Porto, as Benfica took the bragging rights, courtesy of a Rodrigo Lima brace.

Having moved on, the club’s main goal threat has been shared around so far this season, with Jonas, Kostas Mitroglu and Nicolas Gaitan all getting on the scoresheet, with the club having won three of their four league matches this term. The trio are 12/5, 14/5 and 9/2 respectively to score anytime.

Coral’s top tip: Aboubakar anytime scorer @ 13/8
