Premier League team of matchweek 6: You shall not pass Lloris and more Martial magic
Premier League matchday six has come and gone, bringing with it plenty of excitement and many top-flight stars who truly shone out during another enthralling weekend.

Formation: 3-5-2
Goalkeeper: Hugo Lloris (Tottenham)
Tottenham’s stalwart stopper again showed why he is one of the best goalkeepers in Europe, with the Frenchman simply in unstoppable form at White Hart Lane, keeping Crystal Palace at bay in a 1-0 home triumph.
Spurs are now 7/1 for a top four finish this term, with their heroic number one having kept three consecutive league clean sheets as their season finally starts to take shape.
Centre back: Branislav Ivanovic (Chelsea)
After previously stuttering this season, Chelsea defender Ivanovic regained some pride and restored his reputation with a solid display in a 2-0 win over London rivals Arsenal. The Serbian looked to have restored his confidence and could now kick on for the rest of the Blues’ domestic campaign.
Centre back: John Stones (Everton)
Both Everton and Swansea City have enjoyed a successful opening six games, with special thanks to their defence, with the Toffees seeing England international Stones dominate each passing fixture.
At the Liberty Stadium, former Chelsea target Stones was once again sublime, helping Roberto Martinez’s travelling Merseysiders secure a hard-fought point on the road. If the youngster’s performance are maintained at this level, Roy Hodgson will find it impossible to overlook him.
Centre back: Russell Martin (Norwich)
One of the stories of the weekend involved this battling Canaries centre back, with Martin leaving his teammates in Liverpool to witness the birth of his third child in the early hours of Sunday morning, before returning to net the equaliser at Anfield only eight hours later.
Centre midfield: Dele Alli (Tottenham)
Mauricio Pochettino’s faith in his young homegrown stars has continued to pay off, with Alli putting in a superb shift in the centre of Spurs’ midfield, an outstanding showing that helped earn three points over Palace.
Centre midfield: Dimitri Payet (West Ham)
Payet arrived in England with a huge reputation for his astute attacking abilities, and he has proved exactly what all the talk was about, lighting up the Premier League once again, this time against Manchester City.
The France international playmaker assisted Victor Moses’ opening strike in an eventual 2-1 win over the helpless Sky Blues, meaning he has racked up three goals and two assists so far for Slaven Bilic’s Hammers.
Right midfield: Matt Ritchie (Bournemouth)
With one ferocious swing of his left foot, Scotland winger Ritchie sent Cherries fans hysterical, as his sensational strike sailed into the top corner and eventually crowned off an impressive 2-0 win over Sunderland.
Goal of the season?
Attacking midfield: Son Heung-Min (Tottenham)
Many thought it would take Son time to adapt to England, but the South Korea attacker has hit the ground running and his latest Spurs strike gifted his side with another league victory.
Left midfield: Victor Moses (West Ham)
Having endured an endless list of loan spells, Moses will be hoping this could be his last, with his opener against City helping him towards a permanent switch to East London or forcing himself into Mourinho’s future thinking.
Striker: Graziano Pelle (Southampton)
Recapturing last season’s form, Italian hitman Pelle almost scuppered Manchester United’s battling performance at St Mary’s, but his delightful double was unable to help Southampton earn a result on home soil.
Striker: Anthony Martial (Man Utd)
Waste of money? French teenage sensation Martial is continuously making doubters eat their words, as he dispatched a deadly brace over the Saints to pick up a narrow 3-2 victory and prove he is a capable match-winner for Louis van Gaal. United are now 6/1 for the title this season.
