Ayr preview: Harry Roseberry Stakes (16.15)

Easton Angel can take advantage of a drop in class to get back to winning ways in the 5f Harry Rosberry Stakes at Ayr today (16.15).
Trained by Michael Dods, the filly looked a very smart prospect when winning her first two starts, sauntering home by 3 1/4 lengths on debut at Musselburgh before landing the valuable Hilary Needler Trophy in good style at Beverley.
The daughter of Dark Angel then lost little in defeat when pitched into Group 2 company and finishing a 1 1/2 length second of 20 to Acapulco in the Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Easton Angel kept on strongly to chase the winner all the way to the line, and was unfortunate to come up against an ultra-smart filly who has since gone on to finish a cracking second in the Group 1 Nunthorpe Stakes at York.
That is rock solid form in the context of this lower grade Listed contest, and Easton Angel has since gone on to finish fourth and third in Group 2 company.
This represents by far the easiest task she has faced for some time, and from what looks a good draw in stall 16 Easton Angel is going to be very hard to beat.
Quit Reflection finished 2 1/2 lengths behind Easton Angel in the Lowther Stakes at York last time out and looks the obvious danger.
The Karl Burke trained filly looked an an above average sort on debut at Hamilton when hardly having to break sweat to score by five lengths.
Quiet Reflection travelled strongly throughout on the heels of the leaders before being produced at the furlong marker to saunter clear under a motionless Joey Haynes.
The daughter of Showcasing could not have been any more impressive, and ran very well for one so inexperience in the 6f Lowther.
Quiet Reflection raced very keenly in the early stages, but held every chance until fading approaching the final furlong.
The drop back to 5f looks sure to suit, and Quiet Reflection remains unexposed and open to bags more progress.
