Manchester City become joint-favourite for Premier League

Manchester City are now 2-1 joint-favourites with bookmaker Coral to win the Premier League along with Chelsea despite not kicking a ball yet in the campaign. Arsenal have been pushed out to 4-1 (from 7-2), Manchester United are 5-1 and Liverpool can be backed at 14-1 (from 22-1).

Coral can report it was a tough start to the new football season for punters after four of the most popular selections all failed to win over the weekend.

“Despite not kicking a ball this season, Manchester City are now joint-favourites along with Chelsea. We’ve always wanted City on our side and after what we have seen this weekend, we are still happy to take on the defending champions,” said Coral’s John Hill.

“Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton and Derby were four of the most popular selections this weekend therefore a lot of accumulators relied on at least one of those teams meaning it was a tough start to the new season for punters,” added Hill.
