With the Premier League season just underway, Coral’s Rumour Reel brings you a host of players linked to new clubs which could happen soon as managers make a decision based on their club’s first game of the campaign.

We start in Manchester, where Manuel Pellegrini’s City, 12/5 with Coral to win the Premier League, are anticipating the arrival of Wolfsburg’s Kevin De Bruyne who is set to jet in for a medical ahead of a £45m move. The attacking midfielder has become one of the most highly-rated players in Europe since leaving Chelsea, establishing a reputation as an assist machine, though also has a keen eye for goal.

A couple of miles down the road, the situation regarding Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea rumbles on. The Spanish stopper was left out of the squad by Louis van Gaal for the team’s 1-0 win over Tottenham, with the Dutchman saying he couldn’t risk whether the player’s head was in the right place for him to play.

Real Madrid have been linked with the 24-year-old all summer and are expected to make £25m bid this week, while Van Gaal wants De Gea’s £35m valuation met. This could mean the Red Devils boss turns his attention to Ajax’s’ Jasper Cilessen, who Van Gaal managed at the World Cup with Netherlands last summer.

However, Cillessen’s value could be set to rise significantly with Van Gaal indicating that he is prepared to pay £25m to secure the signature of the 26-year-old.

One player who could be arriving at Old Trafford sooner rather than later is Barcelona attacker Pedro Rodriguez, after United reportedly agreed a deal with the club and the player. It was thought that the Catalan side had told Red Devils chiefs to meet the player’s £22m release clause.

Meanwhile, the latest indications are that QPR are willing to lower their asking price for in-demand striker Charlie Austin. Both Newcastle United and Spurs are interested in the player, though were reluctant to meet his £15m valuation. The Hoops will drop this to £13m, as long as the fee is paid up front.

Staying in west London, and Chelsea have had a £17.6m opening approach for Augsburg left back Baba Rahman turned down, with the German outfit holding out for an offer £21.2m to secure the services of the Ghana international.

Spurs may be chasing Austin, though according to Spanish sources, 20-year-old Real Betis winger Alvaro Vadillo is also a target after contract negotiations broke down with his current club. The talented attacker burst on to the scene four years ago and has since risen through the international ranks, with those close to the player rating him very highly.

Magpies boss Steve McClaren has said he is looking for at least three new players before he is satisfied with his squad and has targeted reinforcements in defence and attack. For the latter, it is 22-year-old Bordeaux player Diego Rolan who seems to be attracting his attention after the club turned down an opening £11m offer, with McClaren set to increase his offer for the Uruguayan.
