Premier League sides Everton and Tottenham are set for a transfer tug-of-war this summer, as both teams aim to capture AC Milan’s Japan international midfielder Keisuke Honda, with the Serie A outfit reportedly willing to sell.

Roberto Martinez’s Toffees have been quiet in the market so far this year, signing only Tom Cleverley and Gerard Deulefeu so far, while Spurs have seen several new arrivals, and they are 6/1 with Coral for a top four finish.

Although, Honda would provide a genuine creative spark to both sides, with the Rossoneri seemingly wanting to offload the 29-year-old, who has fallen down the pecking order at the San Siro.

Elsewhere, Manchester United’s hopes of signing Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos have been rekindled, with the Spaniard growing increasingly frustrated at the Spanish giants’ reluctance to meet his £135k-a-week wage demands.

However, the Red Devils are reluctant to fork out the £23m needed for Pedro’s buy-out clause, with the Old Trafford outfit believing the 28-year-old is worth only £17m.

Tim Sherwood is set to miss out on a reunion with his former Spurs frontman Emmanuel Adebayor at Aston Villa, as the Tottenham targetman is reportedly refusing a deal in the West Midlands.

The Villans are aiming to land the Londoners’ out-of-favour winger Aaron Lennon, with Villa Park boss Sherwood having tabled a £5m offer for the 28-year-old.

Manchester City have been dealt a blow in their search of a new centre back, with Atletico Madrid’s Uruguayan defender Diego Godin having turned down the Sky Blues in favour of remaining in Spain, despite his release clause being triggered.

West Ham United are closing in on the capturing of Raul Jimenez, having secured the Mexican’s necessary work permit, and the Hammers have also enquired about Liverpool’s Fabio Borini.

Slaven Bilic’s side will face a battle with Leicester City, Schalke and Fiorentina for the services of Switzerland midfield playmaker Gokhan Inler, despite the Foxes reportedly having agreed a £3.1m fee with Napoli.

Claudio Ranieri’s men are 3/1 to face the drop this term, after narrowly avoiding relegation last campaign.
