Premier League team of matchweek 4: Sterling performances

This bank holiday weekend has thrown up a number of surprises in the Premier League, with a number of the big teams getting beaten. Coral review all the action as we go through our team of the week.
Goalkeeper: Petr Cech
Arsenal’s custodian recorded his first clean sheet of the season to cap a promising display for the Gunners who won 1-0 at Newcastle United. The Czech Republic international was in top form as he time and again as he kept the Magpies at bay.
Right back: Joel Ward
The Eagles full back was outstanding as Crystal Palace, odds-on at 4/6 for a top 10 finish with Coral, disposed of Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, even getting on the scoresheet himself to make it two goals for the season so far.
Centre back: Joleon Lescott
West Brom put in a solid defensive performance against Stoke City, with Lescott in particular standing out. His communication skills were fantastic on the day, as he organised his teammates and helped keep the Potters at bay.
Centre back: Gabriel Paulista
Signed in January from Villarreal, the young Brazilian put in a very polished performance at St James’ Park as he kept Newcastle’s attacks stifled. He is starting to show just how valuable he can be for Arsene Wenger’s side in time.
Left back: Aaron Cresswell
The Hammers’ left back put in a very professional and mature performance as Slaven Bilic’s side hammered Liverpool 3-0 at Anfield. Responsible for an assist he was a constant threat down the left hand side of the pitch.
Right wing: Raheem Sterling
The 20-year-old attacker is starting to show just how much of a canny signing he was. After a very bright start to the season for a Manchester City side who look in the mood, he dispatched as Manuel Pellegrini’s men beat Watford with a 2-0 victory.
Centre midfield: Fernandinho
Having already opened his account with a stunning strike in the 3-0 win over Chelsea earlier this season, the Brazilian was on hand once again to make it comprehensive for the hosts. If he keeps doing what he is doing, he will be a vital player for the rest of the campaign.
Left wing: Scott Sinclair
The 26-year-old is starting to make a real case for an England call-up at Aston Villa. His brace against Sunderland characterised the performance of someone who is making big strides in his game, and is starting to prove a very astute signing.
Striker: Bafetimbi Gomis
What a start to the campaign for the Frenchman. His winning goal against Swansea capped a superb game for the striker, who manager Garry Monk will hope he can hang onto all season.
Striker: Callum Wilson
After his hat-trick previously against West Ham, the youngster was on target once more as Bournemouth picked up a point against Leicester City.
Striker: Jose Rondon
The Baggies’ new signing made his mark on the Premier League with a well-taken goal against Stoke as West Brom picked up all three points against Tony Pulis’ former club. If he can stay fit, Rondon will be pivotal for the rest of the campaign.
