Another weekend of Premier League football brought more shocks and thrills in round three, which saw Manchester City become the only club so far with an unblemished record, which includes no goals conceded. Let’s look at who made our Heroes and Villains this week!

Heroes

Callum Wilson
The Bournemouth striker finally broke his Premier League duck in emphatic style, scoring a superb hat-trick in his club’s 4-3 win over West Ham United at Upton Park. He has looked a handful in the two games before this and everything he touched against Slaven Bilic’s side turned to gold.

Pedro Rodriguez
Just what Jose Mourinho needed, the Spain winger made an almost instant impact at The Hawthorns, scoring after a great exchange with Eden Hazard, before setting up Diego Costa for a second. Impressive throughout, Chelsea have a quality player on their hands.

Manchester City
A thoroughly mature and professional performance from the early Premier League leaders, who had a tough match against Everton at Goodison Park, though they came away with a 2-0 victory.

Vincent Kompany led from the back and contained a very lively Romelu Lukaku, while Yaya Toure was simply outstanding; his assist for Samir Nasri’s goal was sublime. Manuel Pellegrini’s side are now odds-on 5/6 favourites with Coral to win the Premier League this season.

Villains

John Terry
Dismissed with a straight red for hauling down Jose Rondon outside the penalty area, referee Mark Clattenburg had no choice but to order the captain from the field. After being substituted in the Man City defeat, and now this, are Terry’s days waning.

Carl Jenkinson
The Hammers right back was sent off for a desperate lunge on lively Cherries winger Max Gradel, who weaved him inside out all game. With 12 minutes to spare, when the hosts needed to be at full strength as temperatures in east London soared, this error of judgement cost them the game.

Southampton
Despite an encouraging first game of the season, Saints boss Ronald Koeman may want to re-enter the transfer market in the last week of the window being open. It is now two league matches where the south coast side have failed to score and the club may need to reassess this in the coming days.
