Crystal Palace, now 6/4 with Coral for a top 10 Premier League finish, are set to launch ambitious bids to strengthen attack and defence by making offers for Basque target man Fernando Llorente and Newcastle United captain Fabricio Coloccini.

Juventus striker Llorente, previously linked to north London duo Arsenal and Tottenham, have fallen out of favour at the Italian champions because of substantial recruitment in forward areas, including Mario Mandzukic whose playing style in similar.

Stoke City are said to rival the Eagles over interest in £8.5m-rated Llorente, and Mark Hughes has also had a significant summer in the transfer window landing lauded targets like Ibrahim Afellay and Glen Johnson.

Alan Pardew is also set to return to his former club for Magpies skipper and centre back Coloccini, who has been on the fringes under Steve McClaren during pre-season.

In other news, 6/1 top four shots Spurs should finally offload Spanish striking flop Roberto Soldado with La Liga club Villarreal close to agreeing a £12m transfer for the former Valencia hotshot.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy and head coach Maruicio Pochettino could then step up their pursuit of West Bromwich Albion attacker Saido Berahino, and partner him with former England Under-21 international partner Harry Kane at White Hart Lane.

Newcastle could yet switch attention from long-time target Charlie Austin to Burundi-born Berahino, valued in the region of £15m-£20m, who has been included in the senior Three Lions set-up late last year.

If McClaren’s men ditch their attempts to take QPR top scorer Austin to St James’ Park, then 2/1 top 10 chances West Ham United may swoop, after Ecuador attacker Enner Valencia sustained injuries during a Europa League qualifier.

Hammers boss Slaven Bilic is also without Diafra Sakho short-term, but cannot rely on injury-prone target man Andy Carroll. Other forward options Carlton Cole and Nene were released from Upton Park this summer.

Brazilian right wing back Rafael da Silva could be set to leave 5/1 Premier League title hopes Manchester United for Ligue 1 team Lyon, who have had compatriots such as Ederson, Fred and Juninho play for them during the last decade. Rafael’s fee could be as low as £7m.

And finally, 2/1 relegation candidates Sunderland could beef up their midfield with moves for French anchorman Yann M’Vila and Dutch all-rounder Leroy Fer.

M’Vila has a reputation for being a bad boy off the field, while Fer has been lost Premier League status during both the previous two campaigns at Norwich City and QPR.

The Blacks Cats could also make a cut-price swoop for ex-Brazil and AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato, now playing in his homeland, with Connor Wickham set to switch to Crystal Palace.
