Bookies braced for one last summer blast
It looks like Britain will get a break from the rain this Saturday, with bookmaker Coral predicting a Saturday sizzler this weekend. The latest odds suggest that summer will return tomorrow, with the firm quoting 7-4 that temperatures reach 29C or more in parts of the country.
However, Coral don’t expect it to last, making it 13-8 that this August is the wettest in British history, while it’s 2-1 that this year sees more rainfall than ever before.
“August has been a washout for the most part but the odds suggest that Brits will be treated to one last blast of sunshine before summer comes to an end,” said Coral’s Nicola McGeady.
“Enjoy it while it lasts because we are expecting a washout for the remainder of the month,” added McGeady.
