Beverley preview: Double chance for in-form Sir Mark

Trainer Sir Mark Prescott is in red-hot form at present and looks to have major claims of landing a double on today’s card at Beverley with Dutch Heiress and Sea Of Heaven.
Dutch Heiress has won her last two starts in good style and looks up to defying a 6lb penalty in the 7f nursery (14.35).
After landing a maiden at Ayr with the minimum of fuss, the two-year-old showed a good attitude to score on handicap debut at Musselburgh six days ago off an opening mark of 73.
The daughter of Dutch Art made all in the hands of Luke Morris and only had to be driven out to score with more in hand than the 1 1/2 length winning margin suggests.
It was a performance which suggested Dutch Heiress was ahead of the assessor and it’s no surprise to see connections turn her out quickly under a penalty before the handicapper has his say.
With further improvement looking assured, Dutch Heiress can take this before going on to better things.
Sea Of Heaven runs in the 2m handicap (16.05) and is a typical improver from the yard who has the potential to be far better than his current rating.
After finishing runner-up on his first two start in handicaps, the three-year-old appeared to relish the step up to 2m when opening his account in facile fashion at Newcastle eight days ago.
Sea Of Heaven made all and drew clear to win easing down by 3 1/2 lengths, and although he only beat two rivals the manner of the success suggested the son of Sea The Stars needed keeping firmly onside.
The gelding looks the type who could rack up a sequence in the coming weeks, and a mark of 77 could seriously underestimate Sea Of Heaven’s ability.
Elsewhere on the card, El Bravo looks to have a great chance of cashing-in on a drop in the weights to land the 1m 4f selling handicap (14.00).
The gelding is now 9lb lower than when scoring at Pontefract 12 months ago and comes into the contest after shaping as if returning to form last time out when an eye-catching fifth at that venue.
That was El Bravo’s second run after a break and the nine-year-old should now be spot on to do himself justice.
