Barcelona are 3-1 with bookmaker Coral to become the first club in history to defend the Champions League trophy this season following the draw for the group stage of the 2015/16 campaign. Bayern Munich are second best in the betting at 9-2, Real Madrid are 5-1 and Chelsea are the shortest price of the English clubs in the outright market at 9-1.

In Group B, Manchester United are odds-on at 8-11 to top their group, Manchester City are the evens favourites to finish in first place in Group D, Chelsea are as short as 2-9 to be Group G winners, while Arsenal are second best in the betting at 11-4 to top Group F.

Coral is offering 4-6 for all four English clubs to make the last 16 of the competition, 11-4 for an English winner this season and 16-1 for an all English final. Chelsea are 7-4 to progress furthest of the English clubs, with Manchester City second best in the market at 9-4.

“No side has ever defended the Champions League trophy, however, it is not stopping punters from backing last year’s winner Barcelona to go all the way again. We’ve already seen bags of money for the Spanish giants,” said Coral’s John Hill.
