AC Milan capture Colombia poacher Carlos Bacca

| 02.07.2015

AC Milan (16/1 to with Coral to win Serie A) have agreed a deal with Sevilla for an undisclosed fee, thought to be around £21m, to sign Colombia striker Carlos Bacca, subject to the 28-year-old passing a medical with the San Siro side.

The 17-capped Coffee Growers hitman recently represented his nation at the 2015 Copa America in Chile, but is thought to have agreed personal terms with the Italian giants last week.

Brilliant Bacca hit the headlines for his prolific displays for Spanish side Sevilla over his two terms with the club, for whom he notched a terrific 49 goals and 22 assists in 108 outings across all competitions.

The Bathtubs claimed two successive Europa League crowns with Bacca in their ranks, and it was thought the formidable forward, whose vital strikes helped clinch those trophies, would stay to taste Champions League football with the Andalusian outfit in the upcoming campaign.

However, the South American sharpshooter, who boasts a tally of 20 in La Liga for last term, has seemingly decided to seek pastures new with the Rossoneri, despite the Milan men missing out on continental football for the season.

This signing is a serious statement of intent and a marquee move from new AC Milan manager Sinisa Mihajlovic, who is charged with taking the fallen giants back to the top of European football.

Bacca would slot straight into the side, likely flanked by French forward Jeremy Menez, who was top scorer for Milan in Serie A with 16 strikes, and Stephan El Shaarawy.

Sevilla and the Rossoneri have established close business links this summer, as the Bathtubs have agreed terms to sign former Valencia defender Adil Rami from the Italians.

The Scudetto race and the fight for European places will certainly be interesting next term if city rivals AC and Inter Milan keep adding talent at this rate, with Juventus also adding big-name signings, such as Mario Mandzukic, to their already star-studded squad.
