SPORTSBOOK ODDS

Windsor stages a cracking seven-race card this evening, and northern raider Eastern Impact looks decent value to land the Listed 6f feature contest (19.25).

The Richard Fahey trained gelding won a couple of competitive handicaps at Newmarket last year, and produced a career-best effort when scoring at the same venue on his seasonal reappearance.

Eastern Impact raced out wide in touch before taking up the running entering the final furlong and showing a tremendous attitude to dig deep an beat Huntsmans Close by a short-head in a valuable 22-runner affair.

It was a most likeable effort which suggested the four-year-old could have even more to offer, and the son of Bahamian Bounty looks well worth a crack at this level.

Eastern Impact also has a good strike rate at the trip having won three wins from seven starts over it, and his Yorkshire-based handler does well with the few runners he sends to the track.

Fahey has an overall strike rate of just under 20 per cent at the venue, and with the ground fine and Tony Hamilton in the saddle everything looks in place for a big run.

Besharah looked a smart prospect when winning on her debut and can book her ticket to Royal Asco by landing the 5f contest that opens proceedings (17.55).

King George Sunday

The filly is trained by the in-form William Haggas and showed a smart turn of foot to beat Kassia by 1 1/4 lengths at Ascot last month in a competitive 13-runner contest.

Besharah was well on top at the finish and scored with far more in hand than the winning margin suggests, and the runner-up and fourth home Dream Dreamer have both come out and won since to give the form a solid look.

The daughter of Kodiac clearly has a huge engine judged by the way she travelled and quickened, and with further impoevment assured can take this before going on to better things.

In the 1m handicap (18.55), No Delusion looks weighted to take all the beating.

The filly came good at the third time of asking when landing a maiden at Lingfield back in February, and looked ahead of her mark when chasing home Divine Law over course and distance on handicap debut last week.

No Delusion lost vital ground when slowly away, and also didn’t get the clearest of passages before staying on strongly to be beaten just a length.

The well-bred daughter of Street Cry now meets the winner on 6lb better terms, and given how the race panned out that should be more than enough for No Delusion to gain her revenge.

Selections:
17.55: Besharah
18.25: Atletico
18.55: No Delusion (NB)
19.25: Eastern Impact (NAP)
19.55: Bahamian Heights
20.25: Twitch
