Super League: Wigan travel to fierce rivals St Helens with second in sight

Wigan are odds-on at 10/11 with Coral to beat fierce rivals St Helens, and coach Shaun Wane will be hoping for a similar performance to the one which the Warriors gave on Good Friday, when the Cherry and Whites won recorded a heroic-like 12-4 victory, with both sides giving everything.
Saints back rower Mark Flanagn, who is 4/1 to score anytime, is anticipating an equally bruising clash between the sides.
“The atmosphere is different,” he said. “As soon as it kicks off, the noise is huge, and it’s always tasty for the first 20 minutes. It’s quick, and there’s a lot of big hits that go in. It’s the kind of game you dream of playing in as a kid.
“We’ve got a lot of character within individuals, and collectively. We all get on really well both on the field and off it. I think it’s just that winning mindset,” continued Flanagan.
“When you win, you get in the habit of it and you don’t want to let go. These last three or four weeks, we’ve really showed that.
“Sometimes you need a bit of adversity to have a look in the mirror and take stock, and get back to the training pitch, back to the hard work,” added Flanagan.
“They’ve probably done that this past few weeks. I think a lot of teams have ups and downs in a season.”
Joe Burgess crashed over for the winner in the Good Friday victory and also crossed in the 32-18 win over Huddersfield last time out, and is odds-on at 8/13 in the anytime market, while Josh Charnley, who picked up a brace, is also 8/13 anytime.
Meanwhile, Liam Farrell, whose defensive display was phenomenal against the Saints, added two to his tally in West Yorkshire, and is a decent 15/8 anytime chance.
For the home side, Tommy Makinson scored twice, as well as kicking six goals in his side’s 32-12 victory over Salford Red Devils, though is unavailable for selection, so expect Jordan Turner, who also crossed to step up, and is 6/5 to score anytime.
