Coral’s Rumour Reel: Man Utd to agree deal for Brazilian forward?
Published:
As expected, Manchester United have dominated the gossip columns since the end of the Premier league season, with Louis van Gaal aiming to strengthen his squad before pre-season begins this summer.
The Red Devils have reportedly snapped up their second summer signing already, with news from Brazil claiming Hoffenheim’s Samba star Roberto Firmino is set to become the latest recruit at Old Trafford. The 23-year-old is currently on international duty with the Brazil squad as they try to clinch the Copa America in Chile (10/3 with Coral to win).

Meanwhile, Tottenham may lose their star striker Harry Kane to United in the coming months, after the in-form frontman’s sensational season at White Hart Lane, although the England Under-21 sharpshooter has already distanced himself from such a switch.
A former United forward, who endured far less inspiring form last term, could be set for a stunning switch to Liverpool. Radamel Falcao has been linked with Chelsea in previous weeks, since his loan spell at Old Trafford ended, but the Reds have now entered the race for his signature.
On Tyneside, new Newcastle United head coach Steve McClaren will be pushing to improve his inherited Toon squad immediately, with the former England boss hoping to secure deals for clinical strikers Charlie Austin, of QPR, and West Bromwich Albion’s Saido Berahino. Former Magpies marksman Andy Carroll is also linked with a return to the club to join his fellow countrymen.

In London, Arsenal are also upping their interest in AC Milan’s astute attacker Stephan El Shaarawy, with the Italy international’s brother and representative claiming there is a possibility of such a transfer from the San Siro to the Emirates.
Scottish Premiership champions Celtic are also set for a busy summer, and Sunderland’s Steven Fletcher could be a high-profile arrival at Parkhead, although the Wearside striker would potentially need to take a major pay cut.
Another massive coup in the market for the Bhoys could be Real Madrid’s promising starlet Martin Odegaard, who is seeking a loan switch to boost his career at the Bernabeu, following his move to the Spanish capital in January. The La Liga giants are under new management of Rafael Benitez and are 5/1 to win the Champions League next term.
