Coral’s rumour reel: Man Utd and Liverpool to capture keepers?

It’s Liverpool’s turn to be the centre of attention this morning, having been boosted in their reported pursuit of Sporting Lisbon stopper Rui Patricio, after the Portuguese giants signed Slovenian custodian Azbe Jug.

The Reds (5/2 with Coral for a top four finish in 2015/16) could fork out around £11m for the 27-year-old to compete for the position between the posts with Belgian international Simon Mignolet.

In further Anfield news, wantaway winger Raheem Sterling is supposedly considering a switch to Liverpool’s Northwest foes Manchester United, though no player has crossed the divide since Allenby Chilton in 1938, and the Reds are expected to resist any overtures from their bitter rivals.

The Sterling saga brings us neatly to other rumoured developments at Old Trafford, though, as media are claiming Barcelona right back Dani Alves could be bringing his Samba style to Manchester, with a pre-contract agreement supposedly sewn-up for the Brazil defender to join on the 1st of July.

Man Utd (7/1 to win the 2015/16 FA Cup) are also believed to be stepping up their search for potential David de Gea replacements, with Galatasaray goalie Fernando Muslera, 28, emerging as a surprise candidate to be Louis van Gaal’s next custodian.

Muslera’s top saves from this season:

Meanwhile, in Arsenal business, serial FA Cup winner Arsene Wenger is said to be eyeing Monaco’s midfield dynamo Geoffrey Kondogbia, valued at around £25m, as an alternative to fellow Frenchman Morgan Schneiderlin, should he miss out on the Southampton star.

Schneiderlin’s Saints teammate Victor Wanyama seems to have other ideas, however, with designs on filling the Gunners’ engine room void himself.

The former Celtic man told press: “Wenger has been talking about me. He has let it be known he would like to sign me this summer. It would be nice to move to Arsenal.”

So, are poor Southampton set for to be repeatedly raided by Premier League big-guns once again this summer?

With all these mooted in-comings, Manchester City could soon be overseeing more departures as Italian giants Inter Milan, who are tipped to rebuild extensively this summer, have announced their interest in injury-prone forward Stevan Jovetic.

Nerazzurri sporting director Piero Ausilio said of the City striker: “There are many players that we are evaluating at this moment. Jovetic is one of them.”
