England’s Under-21s haplessly crashed out of the European Championship in the Czech the Republic at the group stage, but both Portugal and Sweden are set for a final appearance, with their young stars having impressed throughout.

Sweden are 4/1 with Coral to topple the favourites Portugal, with imposing midfield anchor William Carvalho having been a key aspect of his nation’s progression, with his performances catching the eye of Arsene Wenger.

Arsenal are keen to lure a new midfielder to the Emirates and Sporting Lisbon’s Carvalho would be a superb summer signing, with Chile international Arturo Vidal also in the frame for such a switch to London.

Elsewhere in the capital, West Ham United are working to sign Monaco’s Tunisia centre back Aymen Abdennour, also tracked by big-spending Liverpool, plus Barcelona midfielder Alex Song, who spent last term on loan with the Hammers.

A possible departure from Upton Park could be that of Stewart Downing, who is reportedly being tracked by the likes of Newcastle United, Middlesbrough, Leicester City and Sunderland.

Tony Pulis is preparing for his full top-flight campaign with West Bromwich Albion, and he is aiming to capture QPR star striker Charlie Austin, who is being valued at around £15m after his superb goalscoring season last term.

Manchester City are facing losing frontman Edin Dzeko this summer, but they are hoping to land Brazilian full back Fabinho from Monaco. The 21-year-old would cost the Sky Blues around £15m to lure him to the Etihad in this window.

On the blue half of Merseyside, Everton are chasing the signature of Leeds United right back Sam Byram, as Roberto Martinez faces the potential loss of current defender Seamus Coleman, who is linked heavily with Manchester United.

With long-serving stopper Petr Cech having joined Arsenal, Chelsea are now turning their attention towards Stoke City goal guard Asmir Begovic. A bid of £6m is expected from the Blues as they look to replace their recently departed goalkeeper, and are 6/4 to retain the Premier League title next term.
