SPORTSBOOK ODDS

Home hopes Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (16/1 to win his quarter with Coral), Gilles Simon (22/1) and Gael Monfils (11/2) continue their run in the French Open, as the tournament reaches the second round.

They will all be bidding to be the first Frenchman since Yannick Noah in 1983 to claim this title at Roland Garros, and thankfully all face relatively straightforward battles.

Semi-finalist here in 2013 Tsonga (1/50 for victory) is up against Israeli Dudi Sela (12/1), Simon (4/7) takes on Slovakian Martin Klizan (5/4) and Monfils (1/7), who reached the last four here in 2008, encounters Argentine Diego Schwartzman (4/1).

Elsewhere, Swiss duo Roger Federer (1/33) and Stan Wawrinka (1/12) are also in action on Wednesday, and face respective fixtures against Marcel Granollers (10/1) and Dusan Lajovic (6/1).

Tennis - 2015 French Open - Day One - Roland Garros

All-time great and current world number two Federer will be going to add to his title success here in 2009, and is 10/1 to lift the French Open trophy this year, while his compatriot Wawrinka is a 22/1 shout.

Others in action on the day in the Men’s draw include rising Japanese star Kei Nishikori (1/7 to win), who has a potentially tough tie against Brazilian Thomaz Bellucci (4/1), and Czech Tomas Berdych (1/25), who faces veteran compatriot Radek Stepanek (9/1).

In the Women’s section, Maria Sharapova (9/2 tournament chance) continues her French Open title defence, after defeating former world number 15 Kaia Kanepi in straight sets. The Russian (1/33) is up against compatriot Vitalia Diatchenko (10/1) next, but should be able to come through it with ease.

Another former winner of this competition, Ana Ivanovic (50/1 in the outright market) in 2008, is also in action on Wednesday, and will hope to defeat Misaki Doi (5/1 for victory). The Serb is odds-on at 1/9 to do so.

Other high profile names that feature include Simona Halep (1/25), Sam Stosur (1/12) and Sabine Lisicki (evens), who will be challenged by Mirjana Lucic-Baroni (9/1), Amandine Hesse (6/1) and Daria Gavrilova (8/11) respectively.
