Sevilla success boosts Bacca’s stature as one of Europe’s elite

Sevilla secured further Europa League success over Dnirpo in Warsaw, as they became the first club in history to successfully retain the trophy twice, with Colombian marksman Carlos Bacca firing his La Liga side to glory with a fine European brace.

The clinical Colombia international has been quietly going about his rampant business for the majority of his career, consistently scoring goals in his native country, Belgium and now Spain’s top-flight.

However, Bacca’s latest menacing performances up front for Sevilla on the European stage has catapulted him into the spotlight, with a host of top European clubs sure to be enquiring about his services this summer, including Manchester United (9/2 with Coral for 2015/16 title) who are searching for reinforcements in that department for next term.

Bacca has only ever failed to hit double figures in one season in his club career, during his maiden half a campaign with Club Brugge when arriving mid-way through the term in 2012, but has since gone on to progress, rapidly earning himself a reputation as one the most feared frontmen in the top European divisions.

Like all great strikers, Bacca has begun to add trophies along with his sublime goalscoring records, proving his worth to any side gunning for silverware success in their domestic leagues or European competition, having dispatched an impressive 17 strikes this calendar year, including goals in Sevilla’s Europa League quarter, semi and final clashes.

After securing a place in next season’s Champions League with their latest European exploits, Sevilla will want to keep hold of their star striker but, having become known for selling off their big players each summer, a switch to the Premier League is seemingly likely for Bacca.
