Scottish Premiership final day: Celtic face Inverness, Dundee derby

Published:

The Scottish Premiership season will soon draw to a close after another exciting 10 months of action, with champions Celtic seeking some form of redemption over their FA Cup semi-final conquerors Inverness Caledonian Thistle, while the Dundee derby also takes place.

Celtic v Inverness
Ronny Deila’s Bhoys have enjoyed a hugely successful season full of silverware and will be aiming to end the top-flight campaign on a high when they host Scottish FA Cup hopefuls Inverness (even-money with Coral to win to nil).

The Hoops looked to be on course for a historic treble triumph this term, but Inverness managed to dramatically overcome the Glasgow giants at Hampden Park in their cup semi-final encounter, with David Raven netting the decisive extra-time strike to seal a final appearance against Falkirk.

Deila will hope his in-form Bhoys can gain revenge on home soil, having gone 10 league games unbeaten; including four consecutive matches without conceding, but the visitors have won three on the bounce and are 8/1 to cause an upset at Celtic Park.

On-loan Manchester City striker John Guidetti was also on target in extra-time of that Scottish FA Cup defeat and is 4/1 to score last again this time out and add to his 15 goals this season.

Marley Watkins will be Inverness’ key attacking threat at Parkhead, having struck a club high of seven league goals this term, and he is 5/1 to net again anytime.

Dundee Utd v Dundee
So far this season it is Dundee United who have held the dominant form over their derby rivals, having triumphed in three of their four league and cup meetings this term, including a 6-2 demolition at Tannadice Park in January.

The host will be hoping to avenge the last defeat, though, as they stumbled to a 3-1 loss on their travels to Dens Park, and are 11/4 to win with both teams scoring.

Sought-after striker Nadir Ciftci has been in sublime form this season, netting 14 goals in all competitions, including a penalty in the reverse fixture and he is 5/1 to open proceedings on home soil.

Dundee danger Greg Stewart has slotted home in three of the four derby clashes this season, having fired in 15 times altogether, and the Scottish attacker is 2/1 to grab another anytime, as Dees aim to win back-to-back derbies for the first time since 2004.
