Rangers face Hibs in Scottish Championship semi-final play-off first leg

After five meetings between these two fallen Scottish giants this season, sees the odds stacked Hibernian’s favour, with Alan Stubbs’ men winning three out of four league, with Rangers snatching a victory in the League Cup.

Despite this, odds for both sides are still fairly evenly balanced with home side Rangers slight favourites with Coral at 5/4 and their guests 21/10.

Encouragingly for Gers, they won the last meeting, securing a 2-0 away victory in March, when Lee Wallace and Kenny Miller got on the scoresheet. The duo are 9/1 and 7/4 respectively to strike again anytime in the first leg.

Stuart McCall has insisted his side won’t be suffering from a burn-out after a quarter-final second leg play-off win over Queen of the South only three days before.

“We have plenty of time to rest and, come Wednesday, we’ll be ready to go,” said McCall. “People ask me what I would rather have done. Well, 18 days off until your last game is a bit long – but I’m sure Hibs are recharged and refreshed.

“Hopefully I don’t think we’ve picked any injuries up today, which is the crucial thing. The carrot is too big to be tired mentally or physically. We won’t have any tiredness in the ranks.

“I don’t honestly know where the advantage lies. Not playing for 18 days or having two games,” he added.

“But we go in on the back of good form – defeated once in 17 – and when the big games have come along at the back end of the season we have stood up. We beat Hearts, we should have beaten Hibs, and got through against Queens when there have been a few doubters.”

Both Scott Robertson and Jason Cummings have netted in three matches against Rangers this term and are 11/2 and 15/8 respectively in the anytime market. For Gers, Steven Smith and Dean Shiels both dispatched against Queen of the South, and are 8/1 and 11/4 respectively, also in the anytime market.

Coral recommended bet: Cummings anytime scorer @ 15/8
