Premier League final day: Foxes to finish season in style by sinking QPR

Published:

Leicester City host an already relegated QPR side at the King Power Stadium, assured of their top-tier status for next season, and are odds-on at 8/13 with Coral to win and sign-off for the summer in style.

The Foxes will finally be able to play with the pressure off and, according to reports, should be fired up as they could receive a bonus for securing a 14th place finish with victory in their final outing. So, back the Midlands men at a fantastic 13/8 to score three or more against bottom club QPR, who have conceded a whopping 63 goals so far this term.

Nigel Pearson’s boys did the double over the hapless Hoops last campaign when both were pushing for promotion from the Championship, though the London club have already beaten the Foxes this season and are 9/2 chance to do so again, having slain struggling Newcastle United last time out.

It is all too little too late for the lacklustre Loftus Road team, who are resigned to their fate, yet they can restore some pride by holding their hosts to a draw, which is a 3/1 chance to happen, though the Hoops have been terrible on their travels.

For the visitors, sought-after striker and QPR top scorer Charlie Austin is a superb shout at 7/1 to strike last, having sealed his side’s previous win over Leicester, or a tempting 2/1 in the anytime market.

Dutch midfielder Leroy Fer was a goal hero against Newcastle United and could attract summer suitors, and is 10/3 to be on target anytime, having also already hit home against the Foxes. Wing wizard Matt Phillips, meanwhile, is 14/1 to nab the opener for the second successive game in a row.

As for Pearson’s playing roster, numerous Leicester stars will be aiming to show off their credentials to convince the controversial coach to keep them in the squad for next season.

Speaking recently, Pearson told press: “I think it has been proven we have some good players here and we will see where the future takes us. We think we know where we need to strengthen, and that isn’t necessarily just positionally.”

Defensive midfield shield Esteban Cambiasso has been one of the Foxes most ferocious and top performers, and Leicester are keen for the Argentine to sign on for another season at the KC Stadium.

Back classy Cambiasso at 5/1 in the anytime market to thrill home fans, while compatriot and poacher Leonardo Ulloa is the same price to net the first.

Enthusiastic attacker Jamie Vardy is available at 13/2 to fire home last, while Algeria international Riyad Mahrez is also great value at 11/4 to punish QPR anytime, with both Foxes threats having starred in Leicester’s sensational and successful survival bid.
