Five stars who featured for both Real Madrid and Juventus

Ahead of the tantalising Champions League semi-final encounter between European giants Real Madrid and Juventus, Coral writers have come up with a list of five world stars who featured for both clubs.

Zinedine Zidane
Fantastic former France attacking midfielder Zidane was one of the most majestic and skilful players ever to have graced Europe. The dazzling playmaker spent five seasons at both Madrid and Juventus, securing a vast amount of silverware success during each half-a-decade spell.

During his time in Italy, Zidane was crowned with the Ballon d’Or and won two Serie A titles, but his reign in Spain is what saw him become one of the most feared attackers in world football. The ferocious Frenchman lifted the Champions League in 2002, scoring that famous volley against Bayer Leverkusen in the final.

Fabio Cannavaro
As well as guiding Italy to a World Cup victory in 2006, Cannavaro was a defensive stalwart in Turin, before making a switch to the Bernabeu the same summer as his country’s dominance in Germany.

Nicknamed ‘the Berlin Wall’ by Italian supporters, the courageous centre back is one of only a handful of defenders to have lifted the Ballon d’Or, and he also picked up a double of Serie A and La Liga titles in his career.

Alvaro Morata
The most recent mover in our list, Spain international striker Morata began his career at the Bernabeu before a switch to the Juventus Stadium last summer.

Morata has been involved in the current dominant Old Lady outfit which clinched a fourth consecutive Italian league title and are gunning for a Champions League triumph, beginning with a semi-final clash with his former employers Real.
The Spaniard is a 2/1 chance with Coral to net anytime in his first outing against Madrid since last year’s high-profile transfer.

Michael Laudrup
Dazzling Dane Laudrup was a sensational forward for these European giants, but only managed to secure a single domestic league title during both stints in Italy and the Spanish capital.

Most of Laudrup’s success came during a five-year spell at Madrid’s bitter El Clasico rivals Barcelona, which was wedged between his time with Turin titans and Galacticos. His former club Real are available at 9/4 to become the first team in history to retain the Champions League crown this season.

Emerson
Following Juventus’ domestic demise in 2006, along with Cannavaro, Brazilian defensive midfielder Emerson made the move from Turin to Madrid.

The tough tackling and composed central midfield man won back-to-back Serie A crowns with the Old Lady, which were later revoked, and also helped the Galacticos to a La Liga victory in 2007.

Manager: Fabio Capello
Former England manager Capello enjoyed huge success in charge of AC Milan, but failed to relive that silverware dominance at Juventus for two seasons between 2004 and 2006.

The stern Italian also managed Madrid during two stints, securing a 1997 La Liga title, before arriving back at the Bernabeu a decade later to clinch his second Spanish league crown. His former Italian club are 8/1 outsiders to win this year’s Champions League crown in Berlin.
