Coral’s Premier League Heroes and Villains: Awesome Aguero

Another Premier League round down, so with two of our weekly Heroes and Villains features remaining after this, we take a look at our latest crop to make the roll of honour, or dishonour, this time round.

Heroes

Sergio Aguero
Manchester City’s prolific Argentine striker no doubt did enough to guarantee himself the Premier League top scorer accolade after hitting a hat-trick, as City thumped QPR 6-0 at the Etihad to relegate them in the process. He is now on 25 goals in the Premier League this season; five ahead of Tottenham’s Harry Kane, and can increase that total in his club’s remaining against Swansea and Southampton.

Sunderland
A mammoth performance from the Black Cats at Goodison Park who rallied to beat Everton 2-0 and pull away from the relegation zone. They are odds-on at 1/8 with Coral to stay in the Premier League and, should Jermain Defoe keep scoring, it will have proved to be a very clever buy in January.

Riyad Mahrez
Leicester City have come into form at exactly the right time, to win six games out of seven as they pulled even further away from the relegation zone. It was Mahrez who struck a double against Southampton, who couldn’t seem to cope with the Foxes fighting spirit as the Midlands side recorded a 2-0 victory.

Villains

Tottenham
It was a lacklustre performance from Spurs, who seem to just cave in against the Potters, who recorded a 3-0 victory at the Brittania. The defeat meant that the north London’s unlikely top four hopes were ended.

Vlad Chiriches
Two yellow cards didn’t make it any easier for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, as the centre back was dismissed with Spurs already two goals down, however he wasn’t especially impressive either.

Hull City
This was a must-win match for the Tigers; however, instead they were beaten 1-0 at home by bottom club Burnley, who, despite the win, couldn’t do enough to prevent being relegated. To stand any chance of staying up (2/1 to survive the drop), the Humberside outfit need maximum points against Tottenham and Manchester United.
