Alan Pardew and Palace eye Italy and Sampdoria ace Eder

According to reports in Italy, Alan Pardew and Crystal Palace (16/1 with Coral for a Premier League top 10 finish) have big ambitions this summer and could attempt to snap up Sampdoria striker Eder.

The Brazilian-born forward’s fine form in Serie A has seen him recently rewarded with recognition on the international stage, as the 28-year-old has now been capped twice by adopted nation Italy.

Palace boss Pardew is expected to add another poacher to his ranks in the transfer window, with Marouane Chamakh, Dwight Gayle and Glenn Murray requiring competition when loan star Yaya Sanogo returns to parent club Arsenal.

Azzurri attacker Eder should be a step up in quality for the Eagles, with his experience a plus as ambitious Palace look set to chase cup success and a Premier League top 10 finish next campaign.

Should Samp, who have struggled recently after a high-flying start to the season, miss out on a Europa League spot for next term, the Genoa club could look to cash-in on Eder.

Pardew, who will apparently be backed strongly by the Palace board in the transfer market, is reportedly ready to offer £6m for the sharpshooter, who has grabbed 12 goals across all competitions for the Blucerchiati this season.

Forward planning looks to be the name of the game for the north London club, who seem to be keen on completing business early.

Intriguing Eder may represent somewhat of a risk over whether he can adapt having spent the majority of his career in Italy, encompassing spells at Empoli, Frosinone, Brescia and Cesena, but has been a regular goal-getter for Samp in his four seasons at the club, with 12 strikes also his tally for last term.

As the forward approaches the twilight of his twenties, a move to England may appeal so the marksman can test himself at the top level.

Currently plying his trade alongside talents such as former Chelsea forward Samuel Eto’o and Colombian star Luis Muriel, Eder could certainly stake a claim to being the main man at Selhurst Park should he switch this summer.

Palace are looking like an increasingly attractive prospect for players, as there project seems to be gathering pace under Pardew, who has been a revelation in London since his arrival at his former playing club in January. Capturing Eder, however, would still be somewhat of a coup.
