Super League: Top of the table clash as Leeds Rhinos visit St Helens

St Helens can close the gap on Leeds Rhinos to just two points, and are odds-on at 4/7 with Coral to seal victory at Langtree Park.

Keiron Cunningham’s side bounced back from two defeats on the spin over the Easter period last time out, recording a narrow 11-8 away victory over Huddersfield Giants.

Club top scorer Jordan Turner made it eight tries for the season, and is 11/1 to cross the whitewash first. Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook, who scored against Wigan on Good Friday, meanwhile, impressively has five for the season and the forward is good value at 5/2 in the anytime market.

Leeds, though, are in the mood, and there is definitely more to come, according to club captain Kevin Sinfield, whose side are well-priced at 6/4 for the win.

“Any game against Saints is a big one,” Sinfield said, who is 4/1 to cross anytime. “They are both tremendous clubs and I think [Keiron] has got them playing really well. They are the current champions and it’s always been tough for us to go there.

“It’s important that we keep trying to pick up two points every week. We’ve had some decent wins over Easter but I think we all believe we can perform a lot better.”

Sinfield admits that there a tough teams in Super League at the moment, though pays testament to the team’s ability to grind out results. “There are so many good teams out there now,” he added.

“We’ve got lucky on a few days, played well on others and managed to grind a few results out. There are some teams in and around third, fourth, fifth and sixth who are capable of putting together a serious challenge.

“There’s lots to play for,” he continued. “We’ve got a tough run of games coming up.”

The Rhinos came through a tough test away at a high-flying Salford side last time out, with veteran Jamie Peacock getting on the scoresheet twice. He is a very good value 7/1 to breach the in-goal area anytime, and is a prime example that Leeds have a number of players who can put points on the board this season.

At the other end of the scale from Peacock, there is Ash Handley, who at 19 represents the future. Having grabbed three tries for the season, including one against the Red Devils last time out, Handley has odds of 11/10 in the anytime market.

Zac Hardaker, who also put four points on the board previously, is a great shout at 7/4 to do so again in 80 minutes.
