McCoy heads betting to be Sports Personality of the Year
Leading bookmaker Coral has Tony McCoy as the 3-1 favourite to be the 2015 BBC Sports Personality of the Year ahead of his retirement from the saddle tomorrow at Sandown. The 2010 winner was 66-1 for the award in February, however, has been subject to a huge gamble since announcing this will be his last season as a jockey.
“Tony McCoy’s achievements in national hunt racing have been nothing short of extraordinary. Punters and bookmakers will give him a big send off in his final day in the saddle, but there looks to be one more punt on the Champion Jockey as he has been subject to a huge gamble to be the BBC Sports Personality of the Year for 2015,” said Coral’s John Hill.
