Game of the Day: Pharaoh’s Fortune

| 15.04.2015

Welcome back to Game of the Day where our mission is to discuss the weirdest, wackiest and most wonderful slots around. Today we scull a barge down the life giving waters of the Ancient Nile in an attempt to claim the riches of a mighty ruler in Pharaoh’s Fortune; a 5 reel, 15 payline game by IGT.

Ancient Egypt has always been a popular destination for slot developers – as evidenced by the success of Cleopatra. Perhaps its the mythology of the “God-Kings” that ruled Egypt, their mighty monuments and famous fortunes; but the Pharaohs represent wealth, opulence and timeless nobility – which this slot offers.

The reels are populated by the symbols you’d expect – The Eye of Horus, hieroglyphics, scarab beetles and pyramids. The backdrop is an imposing sandstone wall, lit by torchlight – much like the famous door that Howard Carter broke down to enter Tutankhamun’s tomb. In fact the iconic gold and turquoise death mask worn by the boy king also appears – to trigger a free spins bonus game.

If you find 3 or more masks, with a green background, on the same payline then you’ve triggered the Pharaoh’s Fortune bonus round. During your free games 3 or more masks with a yellow background can retrigger the spins. However, before the game begins you are taken to a screen where you pick blocks to increase your multiplier. There are 30 blocks initially, with 22 giving you +1 free spins, 5 offering +1 multiplier and 3 begin the free spins immediately. You keep picking blocks until you find one of the latter type.

While your free spins are taking place an additional 5 paylines will appear, taking the game’s total to 20. You are also guaranteed to win on every spin.

Pharaoh’s Fortune has long been a favourite in land based casinos and it is quickly proving a hit with our customers. The online version boasts a graphics update and beefed up bonus features, but still retains the charm of the original release. Available to play now in the Games Tab or downloadable client, Ancient History has never been so fun!
