The Coral Grand National 2015 sweepstake kit is now available
With the Grand National almost imminent, check out Coral’s sweepstake kit here, which lists every horse and jockey with their colours, convenient for every office, or group of friends that would rather engage in a sweepstake, than stake a traditional bet.
As well as having a bet on your favourite horse, give yourself another chance winning by pooling together 40 work colleagues, family and friends, or mates down the pub and having a lucky dip.
Simply click on the link and you will be directed through to a list of tickets which has each horse on, and a suggested cutting line to split them up individually.
Below this, there is a table with each horse, which allows you to fill in who pulls out which horse and a guide to how the prizes should be split. For example, with 40 horses running, a standard sweepstake is usually agreed at £1 per each draw, with cash prizes awarded for first, second, third and fourth, with whoever picks the winner getting £20, then reduced to £10, £7 and £3 for the rest of the top four.
Horses to look out for are pre-race favourite Shutthefrontdoor, ridden by AP McCoy in his last ever Grand National, with his colours dark and light green hoops, while second-favourite Rocky Creek is in blue with white dots on red sleeves.
The race is one of the most iconic steeplechases in the world of horse racing, starting originally in 1836, though officially in 1839. Brainchild of local entrepreneur Mr William Lynn of the Waterloo hotel in Liverpool, he originally leased a piece of land at Aintree after having success in sponsoring an event called the Waterloo Cup.
Following huge interest Lynn was able to start what later became the Grand National which steadily grew into the worldwide racing phenomenon that it is today. So much so, that today, there is a huge demand for sweepstakes, where people who don’t gamble that often, pay between £1 and £5 to be involved in their way in the Grand National. So, with that in mind, good luck, and enjoy the race!
